Emma: Family Love

Let's just say I had a ridiculously hard time choosing which photos to blog for this family! Jake, Katie, and even baby Emma (with her two front teeth) love to laugh and have a good time. Jake and my husband go way back to their high school football days, and I really enjoyed finally getting to meet Emma. We headed out to Jake's family farm to take advantage of the gorgeous day we had.
I think this one just fits them...very relaxed.

Emma has the prettiest red hair and blue eyes! And the bow...well, it didn't last much past this shot.

This has got to be my favorite! Love, love, love this one!

Studio News: Update

So much has happened in the last month or so that it's been hard to keep up with on here! For those of you who missed it, we had the studio grand opening at the beginning of February. Many people showed up to show their support and check out the new loft space. Don't worry~it's not too late to come see it. The studio is currently open by appointment, but feel free to give me a call and stop by!

Beginning soon, Simple Reflections will be participating in the First Friday event here in Lynchburg. This monthly event is free and open to everyone; hop on the trolley to visit an assortment of galleries and restaurants in the downtown area.

Also, some of you know, some of you don't...I am expecting a baby (girl!) in early June. Of course, as my husband and I get adjusted to a new family, I will be taking some time off from portrait sessions. I will be shooting through early May, and possibly later depending on how I feel. Spring sessions are already booking fast, so if you know you want to get portraits made, I would suggest going ahead and making your appointment! In July I will open up a very limited amount of sessions~I would like to reserve these spots for clients celebrating milestones (newborn, late June or July birthdays, etc). August is available for anyone, including high school seniors, families, and "anytime" portraits.

Keep checking in to see the latest portrait sneak peeks!

Jody + Sheena: Married

Jody and Sheena were married this past weekend at Patuxent Navel Air Station in Maryland. St. Nicholas Chapel on base was a quaint church, perfect for friends and family.

We headed to the Officer's Club for the reception, which had a terrific view of the water. On the way, Jody and Sheena wanted to stop for some portraits by a Naval plane. I love this set...the antique feel.

The newlyweds were driven in a vintage Rolls Royce...it really was a beautiful car. This is a shot my second shooter, Shannon, took.

The reception was all about the details~Sheena spent a lot of time working on everything and it all turned out beautifully!

This group could have danced all night! Here's the bride's mom getting into the music.I'll leave you with one last shot...

Sheena: Bridal

I'm so excited to finally be able to show you these! Sheena and Jody were married on Saturday (wedding photos to come very soon!) so I can now show off her bridal portraits. We met at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, where Sheena went to school. It was definitely a chilly day but she did great and we got some beautiful images.
