A Day at the Lake

Here is a peek at Mike and Katelyn's engagement session we had on Saturday. They will be getting married in May at Parkway Marina at Smith Mountain Lake and after taking a look around, I think it's going to be absolutely beautiful!

Mike & Katelyn~You two are so cute with each other and I look forward to your wedding!

There was an amzing antique fire truck at the marina...

Little Miss Brea

I have been having so much fun with my child and newborn sessions lately. These kids have been bringing a light to the normally dark days of winter, and little miss Brea is no exception. With her bright colors and big blue eyes, her fabulous green corduroy pea coat and her search for spiders, I think her family is going to love her portraits!

Look at those eyes~this girl is going to be a heartbreaker when she gets older!

Can you believe this is Brea with her great-grandma?
Ahhh...that coat!
Off to play with Uncle Andy, Brea's new best friend.

Second Time's the Charm

Let's welcome little Evan! This handsome guy is just three weeks old and it took me visiting with him twice to get the shots, but he sure was camera-ready the second time. He came all the way from South Carolina with his mama Lauren to visit "Mimi", my co-worker Teresa. Make sure you stop by next time you're in town, Lauren. I can't wait to see this little guy again!

"Mimi" with her new love.

Sweet Baby Dane

All I can say is, what a beautiful child. Today's session with 3-week old Dane went smoothly~a head full of hair, a calm disposition, and the willingness to let me move him all over the place...what more could a photographer ask for? He truly is a precious little boy.

This was my cue that it was time to leave.

Sarah Kate

Last Saturday, I got the opportunity to photograph Sarah, the little girl of friends of mine. Here is a little peek at our session.

Sarah loves her Daddy!

This is a look I've seen many times...and it's usually followed by tears!

Happy New Year!

I hope this year promises many good things for each of you! I will be updating the blog with recent portrait sessions soon, so check back and take a look.

Last night, I had the opportunity to shoot the wedding of Dana and Brian down in Chilhowie, and it looks like this couple has a lot in store for them in 2008. It was a beautiful evening filled with a lot of love and emotion. Thank you, Dana and Brian, for letting me capture God's providence unfolding in your lives. Here is just a sneak peek of the Grinstead's finishing up 2007...

Brian looks so content...

I'll leave you with my favorite shot of the night. A moment to themselves...

Christmas Catch-Up

Wow, it has been a busy month and I'm just now getting the chance to blog again. I have had a lot of great feedback from the Bridal Showcase and it looks like I'll have a full spring and summer shooting weddings.

I wrapped up Christmas sessions this morning with the Knapton girls, Saige and Piper. They were fun (and so were their outfits!), but I don't think Piper was having so much fun with a camera in her face. Saige, on the other hand, was born to be a model.
