Claire: Newborn

You may remember Darryl and Melissa's wedding reception from last year...now meet their newest addition, Claire! She is a teeny thing with a head full of dark hair. It was so fun hearing about Claire's birth story and getting to hold the sleepy newborn. She slept right through the session~but that's because she has been keeping mom and dad up at night! Take a look at her sneak peek...

Maddie: Newborn

So I have been looking forward to this shoot for, um, nine months! Maddie is the itty-bitty baby girl of our friends James and Jessica, and she is absolutely beautiful. Delaney's new friend came to visit me at the studio this week and she proved to be a great little model!

Look at Maddie's right hand~she's saying I love you in sign language!

Love this! I snapped at exactly the right moment!

I'll leave you with my favorite...

April: Contest Winner!!!

Once again, here's April, our cover model contest winner! April is a sweet, shy four year old and curious about everything around her. We tackled downtown together and ended up with some fun shots.

I could only wish for hair like this. April truly is a beautiful girl!
Now comes your job...I want to know your favorite. I will be using one of these images in an upcoming ad, so leave me a comment with the one you want to see in print! Can you guess my favorite?

Sarah: Contest Finalist,etc.!

This is Sarah, one of our contest finalists, and you can tell she definitely has something up her sleeve!

Sarah just turned two, so her mom and dad wanted to roll two sessions into one and do a family session to also celebrate little brother Wyatt turning six months and their five-year wedding anniversary. Becca is a good friend of mine, and we were roommates when she and Kenny started dating. It's been a lot of fun watching their family grow.

Here's the latest addition, Wyatt. Lock up your daughters-he's a handsome one!
Sarah was way more into doing her thing than having her picture taken!

I caught this little moment of mayhem from the ground. Poor Wyatt had been knocked over a couple of times by Sarah, coupled with the fact tha he did not like sitting in the grass!

Sidney: Senior

Let Senior season begin! Meet Sidney, a senior involved in many different activities...marching band, early college program, and Spanish club. It looks like she's got a big year ahead of her!

Just like most seniors, it took Sidney a little bit of time to warm up to the camera, but once she did....well, take a look~

She came armed with a bunch of fun outfits and ideas. This "traveling" scene was one of them!

Thanks Sidney, for getting the school year off to a great start!

Capri: Contest Finalist

Little Capri is definitely a girl on the go! We spent some time at the Awareness Garden in Lynchburg over the weekend and ended up with some cute shots. Here are a few of my favorites!
Being the star that she is...(take a look at those shoes~love them!)

And this was my cue to go...

More contest winners and the start of senior season coming soon!

Kevin + Heather: Married

A surprisingly gorgeous July day, check. Lakeside venue, check. Cute couple willing to go along with my whims, check. Kevin and Heather were married Saturday at a quaint church in Huddleston, then headed to Parkway Marina at Smith Mountain Lake for some good time with their family and friends.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Brown

Heather had a smokin' hot dress...I'm pretty sure Kevin was loving it!

Driving up to the church, Shannon and I eyed up a great red barn sitting on a farm across the street. She suggested to the guys that they go check it out...turns out the farm belongs to Heather's grandparents!

Details of the day...

...and quiet moments.
I'll leave you with a few shots of the happy couple and the amazing view from the marina.

Thanks Kevin and Heather for letting us be a part of your special day!

Delaney: Six Weeks

Warning: shameless exploitation of my child ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you! But since I know you're here to see pictures, I will make you wait no longer...

I took a few shots today to mark six weeks since we welcomed Delaney. This is her "baby bird" face that I've been trying to capture for awhile now. It quickly became my Facebook profile pic!

The next three are from a series of studio shots from a few weeks ago. I somehow convinced my husband that I *needed* to take some of him with the baby. I absolutely love them...what do you think?

Okay, I couldn't resist~I'm not only raving about my baby, but now my obstetrician! Many of my friends have gone to Dr. Phemister, and I had to know what all the fuss was about. Well, he has since become one of my favorite people~a genuinely nice guy and a great doctor. I'm not so sure, though, of how he would feel knowing he's on this blog :)

I'll be shooting a great wedding at Smith Mountain Lake tomorrow...will blog about it soon!

Owen: Contest Finalist

Doing this session today with Owen made me wish I could freeze time. I first met this little guy five months ago when he was barely sitting up, and now he is crawling and curious about everything! I was reminded to cherish every moment with my Delaney (who will be six weeks old tomorrow) and want to encourage all of you to not take for granted the time you have with the people in your life. Here's a look at Owen's backyard adventures!

It started off so innocently, showing off his teeth...
Heading for trouble, and hoping I wouldn't follow...
...but I was!
Trying to take in a quick snack~he loved the crunchy leaves.
More contest finalists coming soon!

Aaron + Maggie: Married

I have to begin this post by saying what a special family Aaron has married into. There are way too many connections I have with them to list here, but let's just say you've seen several of the Webb faces already if you've spent any time reading the blog! I made sure to "come out" of maternity leave just a little early so I could be sure to capture the big event.

The day was full of great shots...Aaron and Maggie were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church in downtown Lynchburg. We then headed to Old City Cemetery with the couple before their reception at Amazement Square. Here's a peek into their big day!

Maggie, all four of her sisters, and her best friend put the finishing touches on the dress. I was finally able to see all of the girls together for the first time...what a special memory for this family!

Details, details...notice the Virginia Tech love in the background!
