JJ: Newborn

Some of you may remember back to Missy's maternity session a couple of months ago. Well, (not so) little JJ finally made his way out, and he's now two and a half weeks old. He's already a giant but oh so cute! I went to visit with them and of course took my camera along, and after a few very funny incidents, I left knowing I had some good shots. What do you think?
Missy and Jim with their precious baby~
He certainly doesn't look like a newborn...
I promise you...JJ began with his head down and when I began shooting, he lifted his lips up to his Grandma's cheek-he's giving her a kiss!
This was before bottle-time!

Can you even tell we're outside with this one? I think he was most relaxed out there. He loved the breeze!

Colin + Kim: Married

Today I had the privilege of shooting the wedding of Colin and Kim. The day could not have gone any better! It was my first time shooting at Sweet Briar College, in the beautiful chapel they have there, then we headed to the reception at the Elston Inn and Conference Center on campus. The guests were fun, the food was fabulous, and Colin and Kim are off on their honeymoon!
Let me start you off with my favorite of the bunch~

I told this bridesmaid she would be seeing herself on the blog~she was the only adult to get out on the dance floor with the kids on a couple of the songs. She had the whole crowd laughing (in a good way)!

The guys having a little pre-ceremony fun.

Cowboy, take me away

I just wanted to let you know that I will be on a hiatus beginning Tuesday through the end of the month. If you know you will need to get in touch with me, please go ahead and give me a call before then. Otherwise, I will have sporadic email and phone access and will do my best to get back to you.

My husband and I are taking our now-annual trek out west, this year exploring Glacier National Park in Montana for the first time and then heading down to Wyoming. I am super excited about the beautiful scenery, the cool mountain air, and visiting Jackson Hole once again. And yes, for those of you who care, we are driving the whole way and we will be roughing it. No hotels for us!

Two years ago we visited Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone and saw some of this. Now you know why we can't wait to go back!

I love the buffalo! They literally cause traffic jams~they have the right-away!
And while I know I never came through on my promise to show you some Paris and London sights, I will do so for this, and I may even throw in the Europe pics too!

David + Holly: Engaged

I am so incredibly blessed to be able to do something that I adore. I LOVE photographing people-big people, little people, people in love, whatever stage of life they are in. My job is made very easy when I come across couples with phenomenal chemistry, like Holly and David. They'll be getting married in October and were more than happy to practice kissing, hugging, dipping, you name it. I left the session completely energized and looking forward to their big day!

Campbells: Troopers

After having to change our location plans at the last minute due to thunderstorms, I thought we weren't going to have the lovely outdoor evening light that I like. But oh no, the Campbell family didn't let a few raindrops rain on their parade (sorry, I couldn't resist).

We got a good mix of inside and outside shots and everyone really loosened up when I asked Missy and W.T. to get a little close for a few.
A good-looking family, huh?
One last one for you!

Campbell's~It was great getting to know you all better! I hope you didn't get too wet!

Colin + Kim: Engaged

So these two, next time this week, will be married! We've been waiting for Colin to get home after being away with his military work. We braved the heat and squeezed in their engagement session before the big day.

Kim has a gorgeous ring! I only wish you could see it a little bit better!

Colin & Kim~Can't wait until next weekend. See you then!

Family: Love

Now here is an incredible family for you. Jason, Makaela, and Lillie are very close and have a lot of fun together, and Lillie has to be one of the cutest little girls I know! I'll start you off with the family shots and then move on to some Lillie-love. Just so you know, I had a really hard time deciding which shots to post here!

Haha. All I do when I look at this one is laugh, thinking about all the different faces Lillie was making for me. She was in an old railroad car that reflected the light beautifully, and let's just say, she wasn't thrilled about having her picture taken when she could be off exploring.
Here is two versions of the same shot. I was playing around with and liked the edgy look of the second one.

Baby Gap??
Thanks guys~I can't wait to show you the rest!
