Cohicks: Five Generations
Meet the Cohick's! They wanted a generational portrait of their family...well, some of them did. The two little guys weren't too excited about preserving their history, but the older of the two didn't mind getting a shot all by himself, so I guess that helps his case a little bit!

Landry: Newborn
Landry decided to come into this world just a bit early, but she has already become a wonderful baby. This little girl loooovvves sleeping, hates being without clothes, and makes some really cute noises. She was such an easy subject!
Landry is striking a pose for me!
Landry smiled a few times during our session, and I was so glad when I finally caught one!

Charlie: First Birthday
First look at Charlie, and you'll swear he's a charmer. What a great little guy~so easy-going and just overall a good-natured baby. I got to visit with him on the day he turned one and loved every minute. We played outside, fed the kitty, hung out with Mommy and Daddy, read some books, and tried out Daddy's skateboard. Shoo! I'm hoping to see Charlie again soon!
Check out Charlie's many looks~
Nathan + Jennifer: Married
I know some of you have been patiently waiting to see this sneak peak, meanwhile Nathan and Jennifer are relaxing in Hawaii (I'm so jealous by the way). They had a scorcher last Saturday but the church was full and nobody seemed to mind. It was short and sweet~exactly as they wanted it to go...the islands were calling!
I had the chance to shoot Nathan and Jennifer's engagement photos earlier in the year and then bridals just last month, and it was nice to see all the plans come to light. Take a look!

This guy was so cute! He did let me know (before the ceremony had even begun!), that he had had enough pictures for the day and he was finished. But he came out of his shell at the reception, where I grabbed this shot.
Nathan and Jennifer decided on a First Look, where they choose to see each other for a few minutes before the ceremony. Jennifer thought this would calm her nerves, and it later did, but she was full of emotions as she approched Nathan. He can't see her yet and is cool and collected! I just think the look on her face is so sweet as she watches him.
A nice tropical send off~

If you look really closely at the garter, I bet you can guess which team Nathan roots for!
Thanks for a great day~ I can't wait to hear about Hawaii!

Family: Home
When you get to shoot three gorgeous girls (see post from May 11th), you have to assume there are good looking parents in the equation. Put them all together and you have one fabulous family. The Bowers family is incredibly sweet and down-to-earth and wanted some shots at home on their farm. So we all braved the 100 degree heat, even a bug in the eye, for art. Here's a look at what we got...can you even tell how hot it was?
Can you see the fence behind them? Pam was telling me that it used to be fox hunting territory, and that fence linked up with other farms.
They have this really neat old cabin on the property-makes for a great backdrop!

That's Hollywood in the background, trying to be sly, but I know he's posing for me.
Down at the lake, on a boat that belonged to Pam's grandfather.
As I was heading to my car to leave, the horses neighed (does that word look as weird to you as it does to me?) at me, almost asking for a second chance. Other than Hollywood, they had walked away earlier when I tried to get them in a family shot. I love how the bright sunlight almost bleaches out the photo.

Rachel: Expecting
You have to know...at my church, every few years there is a huge baby boom, and this is one of those years. Johnathan and Rachel are one of the many who are expecting their first baby and they decided to get some portraits made, plus Johnathan will be coming out with an album soon and he wanted to get some shots for the cover.
These two were a blast and had me laughing the whole time, plus they are absolutely adorable. It is more than obvious that they are crazy about each other and I'm sure they will have plenty to go around when baby Aubri makes her grand entrance. She'll be here before we know it!

Mike + Katelyn: Married
Despite the heat and humidity, the sweetness of Mike and Katelyn's wedding on Saturday kept everyone's attention...and the beautiful backdrop of Smith Mountain Lake didn't hurt either! We started out the day at Mariner's Landing, getting ready and taking advantage of the dock rocking in the water. Then it was time for the ceremony, just a few minutes away at Parkway Marina. They even rented a yacht for the trip back and forth. These two fit together really well and it was great seeing them again after doing their engagement portraits a few months back. Let's take a look!
A few details...
Katelyn looked stunning...I wish you could see the back of her dress!
I was so excited to find out we could use the dock for pictures...but it was a bit rocky and windy, and I thought one of us was going in!
You can't even tell that Mike is suffering in the heat and sunshine...
Mike & Katelyn~Thanks for a great afternoon! I'm so glad your day went so beautifully for you and I hope your time in Mexico is just as great.
