Spring:Fun

Finally, some consistently nice weather! After my shoot yesterday with Scout and Sawyer, my husband Bert decided he wanted us to take the dog and go for a drive. I happily obliged...and grabbed my camera. We ended up on top of Tobacco Row Mountain, and while there were plenty of nice views on the way, when we got out of the car up top, not so much. So here's just a couple of snaps of us. Who needs pretty landscapes anyway? :)

This is WAY close up, but do you know how hard it is to do a self-portrait with a non-point & shoot? Too bad you can't see my fabulous new cut and highlights, compliments of Jackie at Fusion Salon.
And introducing the most handsome dog ever (don't ya think?), Franklin. He adores car rides, hanging out the windows, and running the trails. So last night was his night.

Scout & Sawyer

I got to meet little Sawyer today, just two weeks old and he's already following my movement and lifting his head. As much as his mom and I wanted some sleeping shots, it just wasn't in his plan! He is such a cutie though...check him out.

Big sister Scout (don't you love their names?) on the other hand, LOVES the camera and had plenty of moves to show me. She is definitely the chatterbox, and we talked it up about ants, frogs, and the neighbor mowing his lawn.

Kate: Senior

Shoo, it's been a busy week! Meet Kate, who is sooooo ready to graduate from Liberty University with her Master's degree in just a few weeks. She wanted to mark this exciting time in her life with some portraits, so we headed to the Rivermont area. Here you go!

Jennifer: Bridals

You might recognize Jennifer from her engagement session a couple of months ago. We got together Friday for her bridal portraits on the campus of Randolph College. I've never had the chance to really explore there until now, but it has a lot of really neat places and architecture there. Here's a few from our gorgeous afternoon!

Jessica: Expecting

Let me just begin this post by letting you know that Jessica is not the least bit photogenic. Nope, not at all. Actually...Jessica and her husband Aaron make a great looking couple, which of course makes for some great images. We got rained out over the weekend so we met today at the Old City Cemetery for Jessica's maternity portraits.

This was such a cute shirt!

Thanks, guys! I can't wait to meet little Andrew!

Darryl + Melissa: Married

I know I had promised to give you pictures from Darryl and Melissa's wedding in NJ before their Lynchburg reception, but as you can tell that didn't happen. Their reception was this past weekend at the Parlor Ballroom and was especially for the local folks who couldn't make the trip. We went up to Monument Terrace for a mini-session before their big entrance. These two are a really fun couple~my husband and Darryl have been friends since high school, and they started dating about the time Bert and I did.

What girl wouldn't be excited about wearing her wedding gown twice?
Can you see the Langley Fountain between them, off in the distance?

I love the grainy texture of this one.

I didn't photograph the wedding but was able to grab a few shots.

Taitum

I know it's been a couple of weeks since I last posted, but here's my latest red-headed cutie, Taitum, who will be turning 3 soon. We almost didn't get to have our session due to a sudden downpour, but Taitum's mom Shannon and I (we go back to our college days) decided to take a detour to the mall. When we came out (and after a couple of rounds on the mini-carousel), the sun was shining and we were ready to go. Knowing Taitum and her hilarious personality pretty well, it was hard for me to choose my favorite images. It wasn't all fun and games though...there were promises of lollipops that went unfulfilled because I got locked out! Next time, Tatitum. Anyway, here's a little peak, especially for Shannon. Happy birthday, Shannon!

Isaac + Maggie: Married

So I was really excited to get home after Maggie and Isaac's wedding today, not because it wasn't going well, but rather I couldn't wait to download the pictures from the day. I knew I had gotten some fabulous shots. I normally don't blog a wedding the same day, but I could not resist with this one. The cloudy skies held the rain for us, thankfully, and in its place gave us some amazing light.

We had a great time with our artsy bride and groom session...they put up with a lot from me. Maggie was an absolutely stunning bride in her veil. I loved it and maybe even shrieked a little bit when I first saw it. Maggie bears a remarkable resemblance to my friend Emma in England, whose wedding I'll be shooting next month. Emma if you're reading this, what do you think? Anyway, here you go~I think you're going to love these!

Maggie and Isaac~Thanks for letting me be a part of your big day and more importantly, for seeing my vision.
